Van Bommel - hat trick
Ajax 0 - 4 PSV
It all started in 2002 when a group of ex-BoS guys working for IBM at the time thought about planning a cultural weekend outing to Amsterdam. Plans were duly made and, in late February, ten work mates and friends set out on a "package tour" which included Easy Jet flights, a ticket for the Ajax v Feyenoord game at the Arena and hotel accommodation at the Hotel Trianon. Peach as ever had to be different and flew in from Barcelona having been up at the crack of Dawn, 'nuff said! First stop dump the bags and find a pub. How about this one off Dam Square, "Louis Cafe de Dam", looks OK. A bond was immediately formed with mine host, Louis. As well as fulfilling our substantial drinking needs, Louis kept us entertained with his wide music collection. From "Donald Where's your Troosers?" for us Scots to "Ferry Cross the Mersey" for "Robbo-Op", Louis, made all us all feel at ease in his howff. As culture was the main purpose of the trip, Teasers, the Leidseplein, window shopping in the Red Light district, and for some, the Banana Bar were must see attractions. With the odd break for food, Louis Bar was the perfect rendezvous point, offering some impromptu karaoke sessions by the end of the evening, or was it moning. Needless to say, three days of similar activities took their toll on the odd individual. The formula was such a success that the trip has become an annual pilgrimage. Some of the people and the numbers have fluctuated over the years, but the essence of that first trip remains. ..... and our motto ..... "what happens on tour, stays on tour" .... with the exception of a few photos as shown here, of course.
